the primer i used is only good to 200f, the paint to 500f i won't ever shoot enough to reach those temps. can't use the house oven as i have a 15 month old who is home most times. the gun is still mostly assembled i only removed the cylinder, don't trust myself to take out all the pins and remove everything. just needed a coating to protect the gun, and i don't want to put it in the holster too soon. its dry to touch now but the curing takes longer the can says. just wondered if any of ya'll used it and just let it air dry how long it took, i do have fan on in the room its in. the room temp is about 75f at night and 100-110f during the day. thanks

I always waited the seven days. With your wife occupied somewhere else, heat up the parts to be painted in the oven (just heat, not bake), and then hang them in your garage and paint. DON'T touch for the full seven days. If you've done your prep work properly, you'll get good results.

I spray my calipers and stick them right on, maybe a hour and it stays on very well, I don't use dupli-color, I use Autozone's engine paint and always had good results. I lay about 3 or 4 coats and I think it dries and cures faster because the calipers get hot and cold while driving.

Or sit it on the dash with the windows up and the vehicle facing into the sun for an afternoon or two. That is if you live somewhere that you don't have to worry about a smash and grab if anyone sees it on the dash.

thanks for everyone helping me, i live in the country so no smash and grab aroung here. if they tried they would need to ok it with my dog daisy and she's not agreeable most times with anything. i used a hair dryer for an hour last night and left it on the dash today all day. rain moving in the next few days so back to the hair dryer. its starting to look real nice, hope it holds up. thanks
